Last week I posted an article about music, as it has been the main focus of learning in some of our classrooms this half term. This week I’ve shared an article from the National Autistic Society about art and autism. Art has been the focus of some of our classes this half term so I thought it would be good to share some of the benefits of this topic. Art has been found to be a good aid to communication for some, making choices and expressing their likes and dislikes. It can be a calming, sensory experience for others. Art is a way of expressing ourselves and can also be used as a social activity, working together on an art project, for example.
