COVID-19 - staff and pupil catch up - week five

All of our staff are still working, doing their best to support children and families during this strange time of lockdown. Many of our staff are in school supporting the children of key workers, or who are vulnerable, by carrying out activities and care to make sure they are all safe and engaged.

Teachers are creating activities and work to send, either by email or post, to try to help parents to keep up with their children’s learning. Many of them are doing this by trying to keep healthy themselves, juggling working at home and looking after & home-schooling their own children - as you will see below - so everyone is very busy!

This week, children attending the provision have been thinking about Spring. They have been spending time outside gardening and have made bird feeders for the sensory garden. they have also been entertained by staff member Ashleigh singing and playing her guitar and as you can see here the ukulele. Everyone enjoyed listening to her.

Here are some of the crafts that they have made - maybe you could try some similar simple craft activities at home.

Other staff may be at home because they need to do as the government has asked us to do so - but they are working hard in the background.

We call every family at least once per week - here you can see our wonderful HLTA Sharon who has been calling many, many families (along with other staff) and as well as sorting out some of their issues has been really cheering them up!

If any of our families need any help or signposting to some support that we cannot provide, please make sure to tell us during the weekly call so that we can do our very best to help.

Hope everyone is well, we are missing seeing you all. This week as well as working we have been baking brownies, walking Gizmo the rabbit in the garden and making a play shed with big boxes. I have also been introducing Joseph to some favourite classic children’s characters doing lots of role play and drama. It’s lovely reading about what all the staff and pupils have been getting up to. Take care everyone.

Hey hope everyone is doing ok both if you’ve been in school or not!! Try to keep positive and happy. We’ve been making the most of this lovely weather and getting in the garden as much as possible. We’ve mad a mud kitchen and have been collecting twigs, stones, flowers and anything else we can find. We also painted these really cute ladybird pebbles for in the garden .. she loves finding them and they look really cute and bright! It’s an easy thing for parents to try at home too!
