Christmas Food Bank Donation

For the last few weeks we have been collecting food donations for the Blackburn Foodbank to help people who are struggle at this special time of year. Our amazing families and staff have sent into school a huge amount of food stuffs that will go to provide meals for families throughout Blackburn.

The School Council also took part in the charity work by asking for chocolate selection boxes to take to the Foodbank so that children who might not get much this Christmas would have a little treat and know that there are people in the world who care - we collected over 35 boxes.

Some of our oldest pupils went down today with staff to deliver the food. The staff at the Foodbank were delighted to see how much we had brought down - the rooms were full of all different food items and items people may need, but they always need more.

In the New Year we will have a permanent collection point in school for donations that Foodbank staff will come to collect to help the people of Blackburn.

This Christmas our donations weighed in at 129.75kg which will provide 309 – absolutely brilliant!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated something to help others - you were all so generous and will really make a difference to some local people’s Christmases - it makes us really proud to be part of the Newfield Family!
