People with autism can often surprise others with abilities that exceed our expectations. Even people with severe learning disabilities and autism show us they are able to solve problems and remember things like routes or routines down to the last detail!
There are examples where people with autism have become famous because of their abilities and although exceptionally talented people like the artist Stephen Wiltshire are very rare, it is vital to understand and encourage the strengths of everyone with autism.
The Autism’s Got Talent event has run for the last 7 years and travels the country giving a forum for people with autism to perform and showcase their talents.
The show also aims to raise awareness of autism among the general public. Check out this compilation of performances from this year!
