This afternoon it was the turn of our old pupils aged 11-19 to hold their annual celebration of autumn in a harvest assembly.
We were happy to welcome a visitor, Barbara Foster, from the Blackburn Foodbank who spoke to us and collected the hampers of food that have been donated by families and staff.
We were entertained by a song from the singing signing choir and some pupils read out a HARVEST acrostic poem. Classes had made their large letters and practised their verse from the harvest poem in preparation this week.
We reflected on how lucky we are to have enough food to eat and were really pleased to be able to hand over such a large amount of food to the food bank – A VERY worthy cause for us to all give a little something for people less fortunate.
