European Day of Language 2019

Today we are joining in this special annual event celebrating languages.

We held a languages market this morning where classes had different stalls celebrating the language and culture of a range of countries including Holland, Mexico, France, China and Italy.

They have all spent time researching, learning and preparing resources to tell the rest of the Newfield family about their country.

We were delighted to welcome parents to school and they all enjoyed sampling the sights, sounds and flavours of our international market.

In the afternoon we held our ‘WorldVision’ international flavoured talent contest.

Pupils had been preparing and rehearsing to perform their songs and dances representing their nations!

Highlights included a line dance from the USA, a tribal African dance and a clog dance with tulips from Holland.

We all had a great day and learnt lots of new, interesting things.
