EHCA Appreciation Day 2019

Today we have joined in National Teaching Assistant day to celebrate our wonderful Education Health and Care Assistants - EHCAs. At Newfield our support staff do so much more than just support teaching - which is why they have an extra special title!

We had prepared to celebrate them by children making banners and teachers writing a shout out for our wellbeing walls to tell us why the EHCAs in their class are so fantastic!

There was a photo booth in Darwen Hall to take some silly pictures while our EHCAs came and enjoyed their morning break by being waited on hand and foot by our older pupils who served drinks and home made cake.

Staff enjoyed chocolates in both staff lounges.

We also had some members of the Rights Respecting School Steering Group on hand to talk to new staff about our work on the RRSA UNICEF initiative.
