March with the Elephants - Sponsored Event 2019

This afternoon we were marching and raising money for the Happy Days Children’s Charity. The fun began at 1.30pm and took place all over the place: whether it was walking in the school grounds, within school, as part of a PE session or out in the community - the idea was to encourage as much independent walking as possible and to use equipment (k-walkers and gait trainers) where possible.

It was not about how far you walk but about the activity being meaningful for the students as well as being fun and a good fundraiser. The charity pays for events in school each year, so we like to help them out too!

Classes had all made elephant masks for the event and collected certificates when they had completed the march.

The children seemed to enjoy all the activities that took place throughout school and out within the community. Lots of fun, exercise and smiles on faces as well as hopefully raising lots of money for Happy Days. We all walked or danced like an elephant and stomped our way to success!
