Newfield Butterfly House 2019

Pupils in Class 3 have been focusing on the theme “life cycles” this half term.

We have been lucky enough to have witbessed a real life cycle in class observing caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies.

We have watched them grow from tiny caterpillars into larger versions, form a chrysalis and emerge into butterflies.

We let them go in our sensory garden and they enjoyed landing on the bright coloured flowers.

We have learnt lots of amazing facts about caterpillars and butterflies including about how and what they eat and drink, what their habitats are like and how long they live for (which by the way is very short - only 7-14 days!).

We were all able to use pictures and symbols to show our understanding of the life cycle.

We have enjoyed watching their journey!
