Dan's Trust Garden Party

Today some pupils and staff and their families went along to Royal Clitheroe Grammar School as guests at the Dan’s Trust Garden Party. Dan’s Trust is a charity supporting local children to achieve and they support Newfield children to find their own voice with donations supporting our work on communication. The charity was set up in memory of Dan Bagshaw – a local boy who worked hard and was very successful when he suddenly died whilst competing in a triathlon aged just 27. His family and friends have raised lots of money in his memory and his legacy is that of supporting youngsters to achieve. Please visit their website for more information. Today we celebrated the work of the charity in a fun day in the sunshine – it was a really lovely occasion, a chance to meet the trustees of the charity, Danny’s friends and colleagues who take part in events to raise money and other young people benefiting from the charity’s work. There were lots of treats and a competitive bike race. In the photo you can see us with Shelagh and Peter, Dan’s parents, who made the day so special. We want to thank them for inviting us, for the generosity of the charity and for making sure that Dan’s legacy means that he is able to touch the lives of so many people including supporting the Newfield family!
