Today we celebrated International school meals day - a day to be grateful for our lovely school dinners and think about children around the world who do not get a midday meal. The pupils were given a choice of a special lunch and they voted for chicken nuggets, chips and beans. They all really enjoyed it and there were lots of empty plates! In the afternoon we had an assembly and we also had some special visitors from the charity Mary’s Meals who we chose to raise funds for through selling raffle tickets and staff purchased a cheese pie lunch. We raised lots of money £124.50 to help feed children in poorer countries around the world. That pays for a daily meal for more than 8 children for a whole year! Thank you to dinner ladies and kitchen staff everywhere!
