We continued to take part in activities learning about and celebrating Fairtrade this week. Our daily cafe and tuck shop, using only fair-trade products, have been very popular. The catering team have used products to make drinks, tea loaf and banana bread - and thanks to the very ripe bananas left over from the tuck shop, they are experimenting with banana ice cream! The tuck shop with Helen and Jack in charge, whilst popular, has had certain things far out selling others… our nurse, therapists and librarian all have a particular taste for fair-trade…chocolate! Ah well, it’s a treat and at least the farmers are being paid fairly for it!
