Science Week: Earth and Space

Today is the second day of British science week and the turn of our secondary aged pupils to have lots of science fun. Today we have looked at the Earth by running a bush craft session where pupils have made bread and seen a fire where the bread has been cooked. They have seen the changes from wet to dry mix using the fire and changing from cold to hot. They have used natural materials from the earth to make the bread and enjoyed being able to see a fire in action. Thank you to Simon from Wood-Sage Outdoor Education for setting up our outdoor fire and activities. We have also had a lovely multi-sensory space experience in our 4D studio run by HTLA Aimie Gates. The pupils have enjoyed pretending to visit space to look at the stars and planets. They have tasted some freeze dried space foods and experienced light and dark through switch toys and light up toys.
