Today was the turn of the 16 to 19 department to perform ‘The Jungle Book’. The play was adapted by drama teacher Georgie Stevens and the music orchestrated by our music teacher Gemma Sanders. All pupils took part in acting, singing and dancing. They had also made the props, scenery and costumes. Each class took a song from the show and turned it into a dance, we had marching to Colonel Hathi’s song with Heena shouting the orders, A hypnotising snake song, a lively monkey song, The Bare Necessities where the audience were showered with ants from under the rocks and plants (pretend only) and Vultures ‘shaking their tail feathers’ Everyone had fun despite the heat and felt a great sense of achievement from the praise received from the watching parts, guests and staff.
