The students and staff of Newfield attended a Remembrance assembly on Wednesday to remember all the fallen soldiers after raising lots of money for the Royal British Legion this week by selling poppies. There was a wonderful performance from the choir and the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’ was read by two of our newer students here at school. We talked about what is important about Remembrance Day, why we hold a two minutes silence at 11am and why we wear poppies. Our assembly also featured a fantastic rendition of ‘The Last Post’ by Anna, a teacher at school, it was played beautifully!
