Witton & Newfield Celebration of Achievement

Each week all of our Year 10 and 11 students visit Witton Park High School to join in with activities. They each work with a partner developing relationship building and communication skills. Lovely friendships are formed and students from both schools gain so much from the sessions. All the students were presented with certificates and enjoyed a good chat over coffee and delicious cakes.
There was a note of sadness to the occasion; Teacher Sue Hall who has been involved with our links for 30 years is retiring. Sue has worked tirelessly to ensure that every Year 10 and 11 pupil at Newfield School has had the opportunity to work with a mainstream partner at Witton. She has been a champion and true friend to us all and we cannot thank her enough. It is up to all of us to make sure that her legacy continues and I know that Jenny and Lizzie at Witton are just as enthusiastic to keep things going. We presented Sue with a hand decorated vase to remind her of us all.
