16-19 Meet & Greet plus Enterprise!

Today has been a very exciting day for students in 16-19 Department. We welcomed new starters for September 2015 from Crosshill School and students from our KS4 department to a meet and greet coffee morning. We all had a really good chat and took the opportunity to tell our new friends about all the exciting things that we do in school. We also had a taster from our Wizard of Oz production. Everyone got along really well and we are looking forward to working with them after the summer holidays.
After that we held our Enterprise gardening stall. This term we have been really busy making planters and pots for herbs and plants. We have gone through the whole process, carrying out research to find out what products people want to buy; planting seeds to provide some of our plants; drilling holes in our planter pieces; screwing the pieces together to form the planters; (now that really was hard work!) Painting and stencilling the planters; filling them with compost and then planting the plants. We also decorated tin cans to put individual plants and herbs in. We then held our plant sale and sold our goods. As a result of earning money through our own hard work we will be able to contribute to a meal out for ourselves! The rest of the money we will reinvest back into more enterprise activities next term. Here we all are with our products!
