Cygnet Parents Course

- In Category: Parents

Today was the final session of the cygnet parents course, run by ARC teacher Katrina Heywood. The course has been running every Tuesday morning for the past six weeks and helps support parents of children with autism. The course covers a range of areas including diagnosis of autism, communication, sensory integration and behaviour management. During our final week our parents have chosen what areas they would like further support with so they have chosen to learn more about PECS and spend some time making visual supports and resources which the parents can use at home. The course has been a great opportunity for parents to meet other parents in similar situations and share their experiences. If you are interested in attending the cygnet course we currently have a waiting list so please feel free to contact Katrina or Nick at school to be added to the list.
