Science Week Day 4

Science Week Day 4

Today Science week concluded with the secondary aged pupils taking part in lots of different activities relating to physical processes. We learnt about forces by taking part in an archery event. We also did experiments using magnets and water to test what items could float and which sank. The pupils had great fun racing cars down a ramp to look at friction and gravity. We tested the cars on different surfaces. Finally, we looked at chemical reactions by making volcanoes, which were very messy but lots of fun! Thanks to Cate, one of our Science Co-ordinators for showing us all the different experiments in the pods and Simon from Wood-Sage for running our archery sessions. Cate is about to retire - what a swan song! We’ve had a fantastic week and must also that ARC teacher Katrina for her exceptional creativity and organisational skills that have made us all so enthusiastic about science and have ensured a wonderful learning experience!
