World Book Day - Parents

Today was the turn of parents to take part in a workshop for WBD about telling multi-sensory stories to children. Teacher Hayley Miller read the well loved story ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ and showed parents and carers how to make it come to life. The adventure took place in our lovely studio, with lots of sound effects, visuals and lighting effects. They experienced resources and activities to encourage children to make use of all of their senses and everyone loved getting involved - waving and listening to the leaves in the trees, feeling the cold snow, stomping through the mud, being brave in the cave etc etc It really is possible to have lots of fun and adventure in a story, using simple every day objects and parents enjoyed learning about how they can try this out at home.
