Holocaust Memorial Day 2015 remembered 70 years since the liberation of Auschwitz. Today the children planted a tree in the sensory garden to commemorate the special day and in remembrance of Anne Frank, who died in the concentration camps during the Second World War, when she was only 15. Children all over the world have been planting trees in Anne’s memory and learning about the Holocaust and the treatment of Jews before and during the war years. The tree is a symbol of those who suffered, and continue to suffer, prejudice and discrimination due to their faith or beliefs.
