Last year our pupils took part in a Film Club competition where the pupils wrote reviews using a variety of accessible methods such as using symbols to comment on the reviews, making pictures of their favourite characters from the film and using inclusive technology and switches to say if they liked or didn’t like the films we watched. We have recently received a lovely email from a film club co-ordinator to say how impressed he was with all the reviews and thinks the teaching staff have made excellent resources to help children access the review writing programme. As a result they want to include the resources and symbols we have made into their training for other teacher to help encourage more people to get involved in writing film reviews in ways that are accessible. Once again Newfield are leading the way in developing opportunities for everyone to be fully included and make sure our pupils voices are heard! Well done to all involved and special thanks to teacher Katrina, our Film Club coordinator, for all of her hard work!
