Some pupils and staff are observing fasting in the Islamic holy month of Ramadhan which started on Sunday. It is a test of patience and is also about thinking about the less fortunate and needy around the world. It is also a great opportunity for us to know how it feels, not eating and drinking, and to take time to reflect on the importance of the rights of children to have good food and water. For the next 2 weeks, every Friday afternoon, HLTA Mohammed has set up a Ramadhan session where pupils are welcome to join in listening to and reciting nasheeds, sometimes referred to as Islamic poems. Well done to those pupils and staff who are observing fasts and thanks to the rest of school who are giving moral support to ease the pain of hunger.
