Farewell to Fair Trade Fortnight

At the end of last week we enjoyed the final day of Fair Trade fortnight. We were delighted to welcome governor, Louise Sumner, into school to work on the stall with pupils on the last day of our special tuck shop. The stall had proven very popular over the fortnight, no doubt down to not only the healthy fruit and juices on sale, but also the yummy chocolate! Altogether, the tuck shop raised £80.44 which we will be donating to Fair Trade - well done everyone and thanks for the hard work! We have collected a wide range of fair trade packaging, demonstrating how many ethical items are available to buy - if you come into school, please have a look at the display. The children and staff really enjoyed learning more about how to support fair trade, and the difference it can make to others around the world. Children also enjoyed Helen’s fair trade tea loaf for pudding. As a school we have committed to buying certain items only as fair trade, including cordial, fruit juices and tea. We are looking forward to continuing to support the initiative and are already thinking about how to celebrate the fortnight even better next year!
