Papier-mâché Objets d'art

Every Friday afternoon, pupils in 11-19 take part in a leisure option. The art and craft group, led by TA Julianna, have been making bowls out of papier-mâché for the past few weeks. They moulded strips of paper, wetted with glue, around balloons covering half of the balloon. They then popped the balloons to be left with the bowl shape. They trimmed the edges and then finished them by painting and gluing on shiny paper before taking them home. They all worked very hard and were delighted with their works of art. We display lots of our talented children’s work in a cabinet outside our head teacher, Geoff’s, office - so look out for our objets d’art next time you visit school!
