Mayor's Christmas visit

Today the Mayor was in school again - He enjoyed visiting us at the Christmas fair so much, that he decided to come back with his entourage to give every single child a christmas present. He had a fabulous time, going around all of the classes and meeting the children - he even had a game or two while he was here. In the photo you can see him having fun building a tower - he got it very high - well done Mr. Mayor! The Mayor said ‘This is the best place I have visited during my seven years in office’ The Mayor visited with two members of the Al-Imdaad Foundation – a charity who work closely with the Mayor and who donated all the gifts for the children. Zubair, one the gentlemen from the charity, who was extremely impressed with the school and said ‘We were amazed to see all the teachers and assistants carrying out their duties with so much love and care. Without shadow of a doubt, they’re a credit to their profession and should feel proud of doing the best job in the world’. They are now adding Newfield School to their list of fundraising projects and are planning to raise funds to support our drive for a new minibus! They have a fundraising billboard on Barbara Castle Way……….keep your eyes peeled for us appearing on there. Thanks very much to The Worshipful the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council – Councillor Salim Mulla - for the generous gifts given to the children - we were really pleased to see you again! and thanks also to the Al-Imdaad Foundation.
