Planning for the future event

This afternoon, a special event, to gather information about what is available for life after school took place at Newfield. Hosted by Carl Billet, Assistant Head 11-19 with responsibility for post school transitions, Representatives from colleges, day centres, Health, Leisure, Respite, Adult Social Services, Connexions and other further education services were on hand to give advice and support. All of our young people and their parents, from year 9 up to our leavers in year 14, had the opportunity to attend. They got information about the many services that are on offer for young people once they leave school, and were able to get answers to many questions. The event takes place annually to help our young people and their families to begin to think about the leaving school transition planning process together. This year it was well attended and both professionals and families found it to be useful.
