Theatre Production - Charlotte's Web

Today we were visited by M&M Productions with their version of Charlotte’s Web. The story is a familiar one and tells about the adventures of Wilbur the pig and his friendship with a spider called Charlotte. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the play and found it very entertaining. There were a few moist eyes among staff and pupils when Charlotte died towards the end of the play. After the show we were able to meet the four actors, Nicky, Mike, Carl and Katy who had played all of the 12 different parts in the play! We got to get a look at the scenery, lighting and sound effects machine as well as watching Carl as he did a quick costume change from the character of a sheepdog into a scarecrow in 13 seconds! The question and answer session at the end was very informative explaining how the plays are written and how long the actors have to rehearse for. The pupils got to handle props and speak into a spooky sounding microphone. It was a great way to start the week and we can’t wait for the next production.
