Recycled Fashion Show

This half term students in the 11-19 phase have been looking at materials and their properties in the creative curriculum theme of ‘Living in a material world’. Today, they showed off their learning of the different properties and varieties of uses of materials in their ‘Recycled Fashion Show’, which was attended by the whole phase as well as guests from St. Paul’s Hoddlesdon primary school. Each class had investigated different materials and worked out a way of changing them from their original use to develop, design, style and produce an item of clothing. The items were modelled by students in the fashion show, with pupils from each class scoring them to find an overall winner for the most innovative and stylish recycled fashion wear! Highlights were the ‘capri-sun’ sundress and the carrier bag wedding gown! They were all absolutely fabulous, but the overall winners were TG5 with their beautiful hand dyed T-shirts. Well done to everyone for their creativity and skill in making clothing fit for any fashion show. The possibilities are endless, we just keep getting better… New York, Paris, Milan, London, Newfield…!
