Kung Hei Fat Choi!

Today we are celebrating Chinese New Year! This year is the year of the snake. All the pupils are taking part in Lion Dance workshop sessions and enjoying a Chinese banquet lunch. George Ho from the Tiger and Crane Kung Fu Academy is our special guest and with the aide of his apprentice he delivers dance and drumming sessions with a unique Chinese flavour. Everyone is really enjoying the amazing big drums and the beautiful lifelike lion. Helen and the ladies in the kitchen prepared spring rolls, chicken noodles and prawn crackers as a special treat. It was delicious! Lots of people came to school dressed in red, as this is considered a lucky colour in China. Classes have been learning about China and creating pieces of art work for a competition to be judged by George later in the day. Everyone has been working really hard to celebrate this special occasion, and will all learn what luck the coming year holds for them with their very own fortune cookie to take home.
