World Record Attempt

- In Category: Charity Events

On Wednesday February 6th 2013 at 2.45pm schools throughout the UK and in other parts of the world will sign2sing for the charity SignHealth and try to break a world record, and Newfield is going to join them.

The aim of the event is to raise awareness and the money to help vulnerable deaf children and adults in the community.

At exactly 2.45pm, everyone will get together in the hall, wearing a stripy scarf and we will sing & sign the special song written for the record breaking attempt, joining lots of schools throughout the country.

All of the staff and children have been practising for weeks, using the animated version on the sign2sing website to get word perfect. Each child will get a certificate to take home – and we are all so excited because we will all become Guiness World record holders!

Three of our pupils and staff will be on BBC Radio Lancashire from approximately 8.45am in the morning to tell the county more about the attempt and to teach the presenters a few signs - listen in on 95.5FM or 103.9FM
