Learning about Hinduism

Day 2 of R.E. week has been a very vibrant and colourful day - all about Hinduism. Our Hindu guest, Prags Birk, began the day with an assembly to introduce the religion, including a demonstration of bhangra dancing! The pupils then split off to do a variety of fun activities. In the Blackburn hall, there was the opportunity to explore different Hindu artefacts and a story session about Diwali. In the photo, our pupil is enjoying a sensory story about Rama and Sita. Everyone was also able to try some food used in Hindu celebrations, including vegetable samosas and pakoras. Meanwhile, the pupils upstairs in the studio were able to dress up in Hindu outfits and joined in with some bhangra dancing - led by Prags. Back in class, pupils listened to stories about Hindu gods and enjoyed making rangoli for our exhibition on Friday. Thanks to Prags for making the Blackburn hall look so fantastic and for teaching us all some bhangra moves!!
