Recycling old news into hand crafted paper

In their lessons looking at different materials, TG6 are going to be recycling lots of different objects and trying to use them in creative ways. Here they are making their own paper by tearing up old newspapers and turning it into papier mache, in order to re-use it as new, hand made paper. Pupils have been experimenting with different textures and design of the paper. They loved getting messy and feeling the gloop of the raw papier mache, as you can see in the photo. Pupils aim to make mini books out of the hand crafted paper and then sell them as part of their enterprise lessons.
