WOW!!!!! That was the verdict of our Blackpool visitors yesterday who were shown round by our Head Teacher, Geoff! They came not only to look at the building but to see how we used the space, any problems, things that worked well etc. Blackpool are going to build some new provision for SEND and are looking for ideas and inspiration in what to build and how it looks and works. Our head, Geoff, told them that it was important to consult with staff who will use the building and not just give them what they think is best!! They were very impressed with our facilities and sometimes we forget how lucky we are and how much better resourced we are than many other special schools. The leader of the delegation, Carl Baker - Assistant Chief Executive Organisation, Property & IT for Blackpool Council - emailed Geoff today to say ‘I wish to express my thanks for hosting a visit to your school earlier this week and what a fantastic opportunity it was for our group to be able to see the school and all the facilities available to the students. We really appreciated the time spent showing us around the building and how worthwhile it was to see the school and functions in their entirety’.

Geoff says that, for him, the best bit was the fantastic reception our children gave to all the visitors, spontaneously greeting them, shaking hands and chatting - they felt very welcome indeed and were very complementary when they left, so good job everyone!
