TG6 took to the Lancashire canals, as part of their creative curriculum learning about the Blackburn and the Industrial Revolution on the Bill Hunt Barge Trip. They experienced life on board of the barge and learnt how cotton was transported from the mills during the Industrial Revolution. Most of the pupils had a go at steering the barge using the tiller and the group enjoyed a picnic lunch onboard the barge. Captain Thaybah said ‘It was really good fun’ although she was adamant that there were crocodiles in the water! Captain Fahid said ‘It was good to steer the barge’ - He nearly missed his lunch because he was having so much fun! All pupils displayed outstanding behaviour on the day and even the rain decided to behave, making it a fantastic day!
