As part of our Creative Curriculum, the 11 to 19 Department are learning about the Industrial Revolution. To enrich their learning, all of the students went on an amazing visit to the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry, MOSI, where they were able to watch a demonstration of the process of cotton manufacture as it happened all those years ago. Students were thrilled with the noisy machinery as it clattered and banged to produce lots of fluffy cotton. Students also learned about the importance of the Manchester Ship Canal and the role it played in transporting raw materials to the towns of Lancashire. All in all, students had a fun and educational day and returned to school with extra enthusiasm for this term’s theme.
