We cover various aspects of supporting learners with a wide range of Special Educational, Physical and Sensory Needs.

We have many experienced staff who can deliver courses in their specialist areas.

These courses are aimed at giving more detail and information to improve the understanding of staff supporting children and young people.

Disability Awareness

The course highlights the challenges that people with disabilities face every day by participating in carefully structured practical activities. It will equip you with strategies to adapt tasks, support emphatically and respect people’s individual needs, and is an opportunity to reflect on what you feel and understand about disabilities.

Visual Impairments

Gain knowledge and skills about the different types of visual impairments; how it can affect the child’s learning and how to incorporate an environment suited to meet their needs. Get hands on practical experiences about how the different visual impairments can affect children.

Engagement Model

This course will explore The Engagement Model which is the assessment for pupils working below the standard of national curriculum assessments and not engaged in subject-specific study. Teachers must use this assessment to assess pupils working at this level from September 2021.

Safeguarding

Newfield School is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults as its number one priority.
