Here at Newfield we aim to ensure that each of our students have the correct sensory diet and input to enable them to help regulate. This can be staff led with the aim to teach strategies for self-regulation. We have lots of equipment at school to help with this, but sensory strategies and input can be achieved in a number of different ways, both at school and home. The attached article has lots of imaginative ideas of how we can encourage regulation in the home, by suggesting some simple sensory strategies. Each pupil is individual, some may be over responsive in one area where another maybe under responsive, so not all strategies will be suitable for all, these would need to be tailored to the individual. Have fun and get creative!
