Jeremy Wood
Co-opted governorAbout Jeremy Wood.
Having started his career working in a Lancashire based Mental Health Secure Unit, Jeremy moved to Blackburn with Darwen over 34 years ago where he has worked at all levels in the care sector and has gained a wealth of experience of managing learning disability, mental health and community-based services.
Jeremy is currently responsible for the leadership and management of ‘Appletrees’ – BwD’s short break service for Children and Young People who have a learning disability, Autism, physical disability, and complex health needs. Under Jeremy’s leadership the the service experiences annual Ofsted inspections, and Jeremy is rightly proud of achieving and maintaining their ‘Outstanding’ status for ten consecutive years.
Jeremy works closely with Newfield, since many of our children also attend Appletrees and he is therefore dedicated as a governor to ensuring the best outcomes for the Newfield Family.
